The Blackbirds play dance music for most Celtic dance styles, including Irish, Scottish and Welsh. Members include Paul Wehling on banjo, bouzouki, guitar and vocals; Sam Adams on piano accordion and vocals; and Sean Egan on clarinet, tin whistle, percussion, and vocals. They have been playing dance-based music for audiences in Minnesota for more than five years. The group's repertoire also includes music from Wales, Brittany, and North America. All three members of The Blackbirds are fine interpreters of traditional songs, including many songs in the Welsh language. The Blackbirds' performances at concerts, summer festivals, ceilis and contra dances have been enjoyed by people of all ages throughout Minnesota.
